Ghana’s debt restructuring efforts will be greatly supported by the Republic of South Korea’s forgiveness of Ghana’s debt, according to former President John Dramani Mahama, who has expressed gratitude for the gesture.
When Mr. Mahama met with South Korean Ambassador Park Kyongsig, he expressed gratitude for the vital support and investments that South Korea has made in Ghana.
The $2 billion framework agreement, a large investment that will have a big influence on important industries including healthcare, education, the environment, and agriculture, was another topic of debate.

“This arrangement, coupled with the introduction of new rice varieties, holds immense potential for enhancing food sufficiency in Ghana,” Mr Mahama stated.
He went on to say that South Korea’s dedication to supporting the agriculture industry is incredibly admirable and will surely have a significant impact.
In order to strengthen the agriculture sector, Mr. Mahama also discussed with Ambassador Park the National Democratic Congress’s plans to build rice mills and Farmer Service Centers.
Mr. Mahama expressed worries regarding the Electoral Commission’s independence as the country prepared for the impending elections and urged South Korea and the international community to quickly support free and fair elections in Ghana.
