On Monday, February 10, President Mahama received the report from the Operation Recover All Loots (ORAL) Committee, which included 2,417 allegations of suspected corruption.

Okudzeto Ablakwa, the chairman of the ORAL Committee, reported that during the time the committee was assigned to its mission, 2417 complaints in all were received.

Out of the total, 924 emails and 1493 calls were received via toll-free lines.

According to Okudzeto Ablakwa, who presented the report to the president, the volume of complaints received supports President Mahama’s efforts to combat corruption and promote transparent governance.

“Where would all of these people have gone if President Mahama had not set up the team? So President Mahama has been vindicated,” he stated. “

“Over the last 53 days we have reviewed these petitions. 44 were received directly from civil society organizations and other public-spirited citizens.”

“59 of the 290 cases revealed in the document were cases that had come up during the period the NDC was in opposition,” he reiterated.

According to Ablawka, the websites and toll-free numbers were created at no cost by selfless, patriotic Ghanaians who were interested in responsible administration.

According to him, the committee concluded that the creation of ORAL is crucial for enhancing accountability and transparency, raising public awareness of the need to safeguard public property, and acting as a thoughtful guide for the incoming administration.

Ablakwa went on to highlight other ORAL initiatives aimed at stopping the looting and destruction of some state properties.

The Attorney General has now received the report for review and possible prosecution.
