Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the minister of foreign affairs, is a legitimate tenant at Plot 565, No. 1 Wilshire Boulevard, Airport Hills, Accra, according to an official confirmation from Airport Hills management, Finali Limited.
The North Tongu MP formally requested that the company release this information to the public.
The Airport Hills managers received a letter from Ablakwa granting them permission to share information on his occupancy, property ownership, land size, and the estate’s rental policies with Finali Limited.
He made the request when the Appointments Committee ranking member asked him where he lived on Friday, January 31, 2025, when he was being vetted.
Ablakwa maintains that pursuing complete information is consistent with his beliefs of accountability and transparency, even if the committee chairman prohibited additional questions about his tenancy.
“I have absolutely nothing to hide in this matter.” Ablakwa wrote, “Even though the record of proceedings will confirm that the Honourable Chairman of the Appointments Committee disallowed further inquiries on my tenancy, I have decided to pursue this path per my principles of transparency and accountability and in the larger public interest.”
Finali Limited described the property’s ownership and tenancy history in a response dated February 3, 2025, confirming that on March 1, 2017, Ablakwa and his spouse, Nuhela Seidu, signed a legal tenancy agreement with the property owner, Husni Altheebeh.
With the necessary approval from the estate managers, the contract, which was extended on March 1, 2022, is still in effect.
