The Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA) has taken delivery of the final batch of 30 motorcycles provided by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) to strengthen veterinary service delivery across Ghana.

The motorcycles will enhance the mobility of frontline veterinary officers, enabling them to reach farming communities more efficiently and carry out critical activities such as animal disease surveillance, outbreak investigations and rapid response operations.

The support is expected to improve Ghana’s ability to detect, monitor and respond to animal health threats, particularly in areas where access to veterinary services remains challenging.

By improving transportation for veterinary personnel, the intervention will also support faster disease reporting and field investigations, helping to protect livestock and safeguard the livelihoods of farmers.

The collaboration between MoFA and FAO forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen Ghana’s veterinary infrastructure, improve animal health management and enhance agricultural productivity.
