The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC), on 19th October, 2023, through its officers detailed at the Aviance Cargo section of the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) intercepted KUSH, a cannabis prepared with precursors.
The seized drug, weighing 6.0kg was concealed in a cereal package from the United States. An investigation is currently ongoing to close down on the perpetrators.

Similarly, in another exercise, the Commission also intercepted a concealed parcel of cannabis with a net weight of 0.96kg at the same duty post. The seized cannabis package was en route to the United Kingdom.
In a related development, a joint operation between the Narcotics Control Commission officials and their Togolese counterparts at the Akanoe-Noepe border, in the Volta region on 24th September, 2023, successfully arrested and seized a psychotropic drug known as ‘Tramaking 225’.
The Commission and its Togolese counterparts are working closely to bring the culprits to justice.
