NDC flags will fly at half-staff in honor of Sidney Laryea and E.T. Mensah

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has declared that they will fly their party flags at half-staff today, Thursday, October 5, in honor of the late Dr. Sidney Laryea, the former National Treasurer of the party, and Enoch Teye Mensah, the late former MP for Ningo Prampram.

The action was taken in memory of these recently departed NDC members.

The party’s Functional Executive Committee announced this instruction in a news statement dated October 4 that read, “Hon. Enoch Teye Mensah was the first National Youth Organizer of the NDC. He advanced through the ranks with unflinching commitment and patriotism to become the Minister of Sports for the 4th Republic who served the longest.

The press announcement also stated that E.T. Mensah was a Member of the Council of State in the Republic of Ghana at the time of his passing.

The statement said of Dr. Sidney Laryea that “Dr. Sidney Laryea served the party with dedication and unwavering commitment” as the first National Treasurer of the NDC.

The NDC proudly acknowledged the significant contributions made by these accomplished people to the development of Ghana and the NDC.

In order to honor their legacies and ensure a dignified funeral, they also expressed their intention to send their sympathies and support to the respective families of the late E.T. Mensah and Dr. Sidney Laryea.

Enoch Teye Mensah, a member of the Council of State, passed away on Sunday in South Africa, where he was receiving medical care, at the age of 77.
