The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has warned its members and aspirants against violating campaign poster and banner regulations during the party’s ongoing reorganisation, cautioning that offenders will face disciplinary action.
In a press release dated October 9, 2026, the party’s Functional Executive Committee (FEC) directed all aspirants to ensure that their campaign posters and banners comply with the approved size limits of five feet in width and eight feet in height.
The directive also restricts the placement of campaign materials to designated locations, including constituency offices, regional offices and official election grounds.
According to the FEC, the decision follows growing concerns over the widespread display of oversized campaign posters and banners at various locations across the country.
The committee explained that the new regulations are intended to promote discipline, maintain order and ensure a fair and level playing field for all candidates participating in the NDC’s internal reorganisation exercise.
NDC Enforces Campaign Poster and Banner Regulations
The Functional Executive Committee emphasised that all party members and aspirants must comply with the approved guidelines governing campaign activities.
The committee further stated that, as Ghana’s governing party, the NDC has a responsibility to demonstrate modesty, discipline and responsible political conduct.
It warned against excessive displays of campaign materials that could be viewed as extravagant or inconsistent with the party’s values and the expectations of the Ghanaian public.
The directive is expected to guide campaign activities as the party continues its internal restructuring and prepares for upcoming organisational elections.
Five-Day Deadline for Non-Compliant Aspirants
The NDC has given members and aspirants whose campaign posters and banners violate the new regulations five days from October 10, 2026, to make the necessary adjustments.
The deadline requires affected individuals to reduce oversized materials or relocate campaign displays that have been placed outside the approved locations.
The Functional Executive Committee warned that anyone who deliberately refuses to comply with the directive will face appropriate disciplinary measures.
Such sanctions, the committee noted, will be applied in accordance with the NDC constitution, electoral guidelines and other relevant party directives.
NDC Calls for Cooperation and Discipline
Despite the warning, the FEC expressed confidence that members and aspirants would cooperate with party leadership to ensure full compliance with the new campaign regulations.
The committee maintained that adherence to the rules would help strengthen internal party discipline, promote fairness among aspirants and prevent unnecessary disputes during the reorganisation process.
The directive highlights the NDC’s efforts to regulate internal political campaigns and ensure that all participants operate within established guidelines.
