The passing of famous actor, director, and comedian Okiki Adesina, popularly known as Janmole, has left Nigeria’s film industry in sadness.

Another devastating loss for the nation’s creative sector was apparently the well-known performer’s death in a deadly car accident on Monday.

Bolaji Amusan, also known as Mr. Latin, a filmmaker and President of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), verified the tragic incident on Tuesday.

Mr. Latin honoured the late actor and offered prayers for his bereaved family and coworkers as he announced the news on his Instagram site.

“May the soul of our departed colleague, Adesina Okiki Janmole, rest in perfect peace after he unfortunately died in an accident. May God grant his friends, family, and colleagues the strength and comfort they need to deal with this irreversible loss. We shall miss him terribly. He wrote, “Amen.”

Janmole passed away over four years after surviving a fire on the Lagos-Ibadan Motorway, which many people thought he barely avoided.

The late actor, who was well-known for his comedy, on-screen persona, and contributions to the Yoruba film industry, made a name for himself in Nollywood and continued to be well-known to both coworkers and viewers.

Actors, filmmakers, and fans are expected to pay respect to a seasoned performer whose work has left a lasting impression on Nigerian cinema. His departure has sparked an outpouring of grief throughout the entertainment industry.
