The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced the arrangements for its 2026 National Officers Election, scheduled to take place on Saturday, October 3, 2026.
According to a notice issued by the party’s National Officers Elections Committee (NOEC) on Wednesday, September 30, voting will be conducted across 31 polling stations, with delegates expected to elect national officers to nine key executive positions.
The positions up for election are National Chairman, Vice Chairman, General Secretary, National Organiser, National Women’s Organiser, National Youth Organiser, National Nasara Organiser, National Treasurer and National Communications Director.
NPP Election 2026: Programme and Voting Time
The NPP national conference will begin with consideration of proposed constitutional amendments at 9:00 a.m. on October 3.
Voting for the national officers is scheduled to commence at 12:00 p.m., following the constitutional proceedings. The NOEC, chaired by Frederick Opare-Ansah, has urged delegates and party officials to adhere to the timetable to ensure an orderly electoral process.
The party has also called on constituency, regional and national officers to ensure that delegates under their respective jurisdictions are properly informed about the voting arrangements.
Electoral Commission to Verify NPP Delegates
The Electoral Commission (EC) will conduct the NPP national officers election and verify delegates before they are permitted to vote.
The NOEC has stated that every delegate must have their name on the official delegates’ register and present at least one valid identification document during the verification process.
Documents Accepted for NPP Election 2026
Delegates attending the October 3 NPP national election can use any of the following documents for identification:
- Ghana Card
- Voter ID Card
- NPP Party Card
The party has advised delegates to come along with one of the approved identification documents and arrive early enough to allow sufficient time for verification before voting begins.
The October 3 exercise forms part of the NPP’s preparations to elect its national leadership while also considering proposed amendments to the party’s constitution.
The NOEC said the arrangements are intended to facilitate an orderly conference, delegate verification and the smooth conduct of the NPP national officers election.
