NPP provides GH10,000 to Atsu’s bereaved family.

To assist the family of the late Christian Atsu, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) leadership has donated GH10,000 in cash.

NPP General Secretary Justin Kodua, together with the party’s National Organiser Henry Nana Boakye, Nasara Coordinator Aziz Haruna Futah, and other officials, expressed their condolences to the deceased football player’s family.

Christian Atsu, a former footballer for Ghana, lost his life in a terrible earthquake in Turkey on Saturday. His remains arrived on Sunday.

On February 6, a 7.8-magnitude earthquake that shook Turkey and Syria and killed more than 44,000 people total including Atsu, age 31.

Derek Boateng, Kwadwo Asamoah, Jerry Akaminko, Rabiu Mohammed, and Lydia Forson, all athletes from Ghana, attended.

Others include Hannah Bentil, Stephen Appiah’s wife, and his uncle Nii Kwadwo Appiah, the creator of the Jamestown Stool.

Earlier, the Atsu family received a tribute from former Black Stars coach CK Akonnor.
