Newly elected New Patriotic Party (NPP) executives Henry Nana Boakye and Nana Akomea are expected to be sworn into office today, Tuesday, October 6, 2026, as the party’s Second and Third Vice Chairmen, respectively.
The two NPP national executives were absent from the swearing-in ceremony held shortly after the party’s National Delegates Congress and National Officers’ Elections at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Saturday, October 3.
Their absence prevented them from taking the oath alongside several other newly elected members of the NPP national leadership immediately after the elections.
Nana Akomea Confirms NPP Swearing-In Plans
Nana Akomea has confirmed that he and Henry Nana Boakye are expected to formally take the oath of office during the first meeting of the newly elected NPP national executives.
Speaking in an interview with JoyNews, Nana Akomea said the new national officers are scheduled to hold their first meeting on Tuesday, where arrangements have been made for the outstanding swearing-in.
“We have our first meeting on Tuesday, I think. Our first meeting as new executives and I am sure I will get myself sworn in,” he said.
The ceremony is expected to complete the formal process for Nana Akomea and Henry Nana Boakye to assume their respective positions within the NPP national leadership.
Henry Nana Boakye and Nana Akomea Elected NPP Vice Chairmen
The NPP held its National Delegates Congress and National Officers’ Elections on October 3, 2026, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
Delegates from across Ghana participated in the elections to select a new team of national officers who will oversee the affairs of the party.
As part of the election results, Henry Nana Boakye, popularly known as Nana B, was elected Second Vice Chairman, while Nana Akomea was elected Third Vice Chairman.
Kwadwo Fosu Boadu secured the position of First Vice Chairman after defeating Nana Akomea and Henry Nana Boakye in the contest.
The election of the new executives forms part of the NPP’s process of constituting its national leadership as the party moves into the next phase of its political activities.
