In his speech, President Mnangagwa reiterated Ghana and Zimbabwe’s close historical and familial relations, which are based on their common fight for self-determination after Ghana gained independence in 1957.

He praised Ghana’s commitment to military training, as well as its moral, political, and diplomatic assistance during the liberation era.

He highlighted that respect for one another, a common vision for prosperity, and Pan-African ideas form the foundation of the two countries’ enduring ties.

President Mnangagwa also emphasised how crucial it is to use organisations like the Joint Permanent Commission on Cooperation (JPCC) to strengthen cooperation in important areas including labour, trade, energy, tourism, and industrial development.

Both presidents urged greater use of the AfCFTA’s prospects to boost business-to-business interactions and economic cooperation.

Additionally, they emphasised the importance of knowledge exchange in fields including local production of necessities, healthcare innovation, and sustainable mining.
