One day, a snake bit someone and the person turned around to see a frog crawling around. The person ignored the frog and went home and nothing happened to him.

Another day, a frog bit the same person and when he looked around, he saw a snake running away and quickly thought he’s been bitten by the snake. So, he who had not actually been bitten by any snake had his leg swollen just because of what he thought had happened to him.

Proverbs 23 verse 7 says, as a man thinks, so he is. What do you think about yourself and the supposed condition in which you find yourself? Do they align with God’s plan and thought about your life? Brethren, there are many people walking around with unknown but serious health conditions who would live without falling sick till their destined time to die. But there are others who would die quickly because of what they are told about a medical diagnosis and and how they think about their health situation. A medical doctor once told me about how a cancer patient survived just by swallowing empty capsules that he had been made to believe contained medication for fighting his particular health condition. The capsules were empty containers, yet the thoughts that they contain anti-cancer agents proved powerful in addressing a health challenge.

So it is all about our mindset. If you think you are sick, you are sick. If you think you are poor, you are poor. If you think you are defeated, you are defeated. If you think you have failed, you have failed. What is worrying is that, though how we think, isn’t how God thinks about us and though how we see ourselves isn’t how God sees us, how we think about ourselves and how we see ourselves can torpedo and overshadow how God sees and think about us. So for instance, if God sees us as healthy, rich, saved and over-comers, the only thing that can hamper this divine view of us, is how we think and see ourselves in the contrary.

Beloved, God sees us as saved, healed, victorious and successful. This is as a result of His own nature as our kind Father and also as a result of the atoning death of Christ to deliver us from eternal damnation to eternal life, as we believe. Any contrary thought by ourselves, is suicidal as it supplants the great thoughts and view of God concerning us.

So, let us think and see ourselves as God sees us and remember we would be as we think we are. In this regard, let us think and see ourselves more in a positive light and in a manner that aligns with the view and thoughts of God about our lives and it shall be well with us.

A great week to us all.
