The Ghana Armed Forces has announced the conclusion of the selection process for the first batch of recruits, with a total of 2,000 people slated to begin training as part of a statewide enrolment drive.

Captain Veronica Adzo Arhin stated that the selected recruits should attend to their respective regional selection centres throughout all 16 regions on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at 9 a.m. to get their appointment letters and prospectus.

The Armed Forces indicated that this initial group is one of four batches to be trained.

Additionally, it guaranteed that applicants who were deferred throughout the screening process because of treatable medical issues would seek proper care and would be reassessed at a later time at no extra charge.

The announcement further disclosed that, in remembrance of the tragedy, the first batch consists of five people sponsored by the relatives of the victims of the El-Wak Stadium stampede last year and eighteen people who were injured during the event.

The Military expressed gratitude to all 16 Regional Administrations for their assistance in decentralising the recruitment process in accordance with government policy.

It also encouraged remaining applicants to be patient, assuring them that future selections would be made from a pool of high-performing candidates, with special consideration given to individuals from Sikaman in the Ashanti Region who helped with last year’s helicopter crash rescue efforts.
