The NAIMOS Task Force deliberately raids and attacks a notorious Galamsey site at Armouri in the Western North Region’s Aowin Municipality.
Seven illegal miners are captured by TaskForce, who also set several makeshift structures on fire, including a shrine that one of the criminal miners was in charge of. 33 cartridges and two pump action guns were found during the operation.
In the Nyankamam-Armori forest of Aowin Municipality in the Western North Region, NAIMOS apprehends armed thugs posing as members of the Anti-Galamsey task team.
The Aowin municipality’s illicit mining operations are allegedly encouraged by the ten armed thugs who operate with impunity and extort money from Galamseyers, claiming ties to the Aowin Paramount Chief.
The NAIMOS Task Force has subsequently apprehended the aforementioned thugs together with their guns and talismans, and they will be turned over to the Ghana Police Service.
