The National Homeownership Fair, a two-day public event that gives prospective homeowners a chance to interact directly with real estate developers, financial institutions, and others in the built industry to explore mortgage options and other pathways to homeownership, was hosted this morning by the minister, Hon. Kenneth Gilbert Adjei.
Important Points of the Minister’s Statement:
The government is launching the Greenville District Housing Programme, a 20-bedroom housing unit with the necessary infrastructure that is now being piloted in eight districts, in order to create additional avenues to homeownership and ultimately address the national housing shortfall.
In the program’s next phase, this is anticipated to be expanded to all 261 districts.
Ghana’s housing problem can be transformed into a development success story with the help of well-defined regulations, robust institutions, and engaged private sector involvement.
