Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and representatives of the Bank of Ghana celebrated the first eCedi Hackathon winners last night.
The competition’s goal was to unite the most innovative thinkers in finance and technology to investigate the limitless potential of a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC).
Three African nations are presently testing CBDCs, with Ghana being one of them.
88 participants from across the world competed in the eCedi Hackathon, where several teams presented creative ideas and solutions for various e-cedi use cases.
The Bank of Ghana’s careful and stringent approach to implementing the eCedi has pleased Dr. Bawumia.
He expressed his excitement about the possibility of using the technological infrastructure that has been established in recent years to address our developmental concerns.
Congratulations to Forward Titans, the winners of the eCedi Hackathon and the nine others who made the shortlist.
You are all winners and Ghana is the ultimate winner.
