Five thousand of them are re-sitters, while the remaining individuals are freshmen or first-time candidates.

It is anticipated that the examination will take two hours.

600 candidates, including new and returning students, are taking the exam at Accra High School.

According to reports, Haruna Iddrisu, the sector minister, has arrived at the Accra High School center to keep an eye on the situation.

Later on, he is anticipated to visit more centers.

Haruna Iddrisu, meanwhile, has demanded that the final teacher licensure exam be finished by August 30 at the latest.

A new mechanism for evaluating teacher qualifications will take the place of the Teacher Licensure Examination regime.

The new framework would prioritize classroom experience and academic foundation above formal testing, moving away from standardized tests and toward a more hands-on, skills-based approach.

In a July 15 media appearance, Mr. Iddrisu acknowledged the persistent worries about the licensing exams.

“If there is a last opportunity for those who sat and couldn’t make it, that process should not travel beyond 30th August,” he said.

The Minister praised the extensive suggestions made by the members of the committee tasked with examining the teacher license framework in order to embrace a more thorough and useful method of evaluating teacher preparedness.

“This new model will guide the teacher licensure exam beyond solely paper-based assessments,” he explained.

“It incorporates supervised practicum evaluations and structured mentorship programmes, ensuring that newly trained teachers demonstrate not just theoretical knowledge but actual classroom competence,” he added.

After the final licensure chance for candidates who need to retake or join the exam is over, Mr. Iddrisu stated that the new model will be put into effect as soon as is practical.

He claims that by guaranteeing that licensed teachers have the requisite academic knowledge and practical abilities prior to starting classes, the proposed reforms aim to raise the standard of education.
