In a concerted effort to maintain a clean and healthy environment, Public Health Officers of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) have issued abatement notices to forty (40) shop owners, residents, and business operators who failed to participate in a recent clean-up exercise organised to commemorate its 125th anniversary.

The clean-up exercise, which was organized on Saturday concurrently in the three sub-metros of the Assembly (Okaikoi South, Ashiedu Keteke and Ablekuma South) aimed to improve the overall cleanliness and hygiene of the city in preparation for the highly anticipated funeral of the late Ga Manye.

The abatement notices, serve as official warnings to the recipients, compelling them to take immediate action to clean and maintain their properties to avoid court action.

Head of Public Affairs at the AMA, Gilbert Nii Ankrah who disclosed this to the media reiterated the importance of community involvement in maintaining a clean environment.
