Three hundred and fifteen compressed packages of suspected Indian hemp, hidden in car tires, have led to the arrest of four people in Tema.

The Tema Community 1 District Police captured the accused, Nura Sali, 44; Pius Chukwuma, 49; Mustapha Umar, 18; and Abdulai Amayau, 23 at the Tema Industrial Area. ‎

During a police operation, the packages were found hidden in the tires of a truck bearing the license plate GN 7291-16.

The accused were remanded into police custody after being arraigned before the Ashaiman Circuit Court on Thursday, September 11, 2025, according to a police statement.

Their next court date is September 30, 2025.
The court has also ordered the truck, registered GN 7291-16, that was used to transport the suspected drugs to be held while additional investigation is conducted.
