Century Aviation Ltd., a 100% Ghanaian-owned aviation company, has successfully completed a demonstration flight to Ho Airport in the Volta Region, marking a new milestone in Ghana’s air transport industry.

At 2:40 p.m. on September 25, 2025, the flight, which carried 19 people on a Cessna Sky Courier aircraft, took off from Kotoka International Airport.

The aircraft demonstrated its efficiency during the 30-minute flight, returning to Accra safely at approximately 4:35 p.m.

Century Aviation and Africair, Textron Aviation’s licensed Africa representatives and the makers of the Cessna SkyCourier, collaborated on the presentation.

The two businesses have been collaborating over the last four years to create a trustworthy and effective air taxi service that meets Ghana’s expanding transportation requirements.

While growing its charter services for international firms, such as those in the mining, oil, and gas industries, Century Aviation hopes to run scheduled passenger and freight flights to underdeveloped locations around Ghana.

Following the trip, Century Aviation’s Managing Director, Mrs. Essie Anno Sackey, praised the SkyCourier aircraft’s performance and adaptability.

“We are particularly impressed with two things – one is that you can easily reconfigure the internal space for passengers or cargo, depending on the flight requirements”

“The other is that the SkyCourier can land and take off on various runway surfaces, allowing us to service underserved destinations in Ghana and West Africa, as we are planning,” she stated.

The Cessna SkyCourier is a high-wing, twin-engine turboprop aircraft with a high degree of mobility and low maintenance requirements.

With plenty of legroom, USB charging connections, and big windows in each row, it can hold up to 19 passengers.

The aircraft has a range of 1,704 kilometres, an operational altitude of 25,000 feet, and a maximum cruising speed of 389 km/h.

It can transport up to 6,000 pounds of cargo and is pilot-operated.

A major step towards increasing domestic aviation connectivity, the successful demonstration flight will provide Ghanaians with quicker and more effective ways to travel within the nation and the subregion.
