PR & COMMS UPDATES
Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, Minister for Trade, Agribusiness, and Industry, made a working visit to MND Metals Company Limited yesterday, Thursday, April 16, 2026, in the Tema Free Zones Enclave.
The visit was a component of the Ministry’s efforts to strengthen ties with important industry participants in order to familiarise the Minister with their operations, comprehend the difficulties facing the industry, and evaluate how their actions fit with the government’s larger industrialisation agenda.
The Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to encouraging value addition in the industrial sector during a guided tour of the company’s facilities.
She clarified that the prohibition on non-ferrous metal exports was put in place as a calculated move to guarantee that raw materials be processed locally, giving young people work possibilities.

The policy, according to Hon. Ofosu-Adjare, is consistent with the government’s goal of promoting sustainable economic growth through industrialisation and bolstering regional industries.
Mr. Nidal Nasseredine, the CEO of MND Metals Company Limited, thanked the President for the effort, pointing out that it has made it possible for the business to obtain sufficient raw materials to maintain and grow.
Additionally, he expressed gratitude to the Hon. Minister and her delegation for the visit, characterising it as an indication of the government’s dedication to assisting Ghanaian industry.
