Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources Benito Owusu-Bio, who is in charge of Lands and Forestry, is certain that Ghana has the political will to change the nation’s system of land administration.
During his presentation at one of Ghana’s sessions of the International Federation of Surveyors (FIG) working week 2023 in Orlando, Florida, the Deputy Minister made this assertion.
The International Federation of Surveyors (FIG) working week with the subject “Protecting Our World, Conquering Frontiers” was scheduled for 28 May to 1 June, 2023, and the Deputy Minister led a delegation of Ghanaian surveyors to attend.
During the meeting, Mr. Owusu-Bio also mingled with Surv. Diane Dumashie, President of FIG.
The Ministry gave a paper on “Land Administration and Management in Ghana, the Emerging Trends” at one of the technical sessions. Mr. Maxwell Adu-Nsarfoa, Technical Director for Lands, delivered the presentation, which was followed by an open debate on land issues in Ghana.
The presidents of the Ghana Institution of Surveyors and the Licenced Surveyors Association, as well as the deputy executive secretaries of the Lands Commission, were present.
