Justice Gertrude Araba Essaba Sackey Torkornoo is now the fifteenth Chief Justice of Ghana, having been sworn in by President Akufo-Addo.
After Georgina Theodora Wood and Sophia Akuffo, Justice Torkornoo is Akufo-Addo’s third chief justice to be sworn in since he took office in January 2017. She is also the third chief judge who is a woman.
Following Justice Kwasi Anin-Yeboah’s retirement on May 24, Justice Gertrude Torkornoo will be the new justice.
