The Second Session of the Ninth Parliament of the Fourth Republic has begun with the issuance of a Constitutional Instrument by Speaker Alban Bagbin.

The Speaker has scheduled the start of the session for Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at 12:00 noon, in compliance with the authority granted to him by Article 112(1) of the 1992 Constitution.

The session will be held at Parliament House in Accra.

The formal document, signed by the Speaker on January 19, 2026, instructs all Members of Parliament (MPs) to meet again at the scheduled hour in order to continue the country’s legislative business.

With the start of the Second Session, government business—including bill discussion, approvals, and executive oversight—will continue in earnest. This is a crucial time in the parliamentary calendar.

Key legislative agendas and outstanding issues from the previous session are anticipated to be discussed during the session.

When the House returns from its break to carry out its constitutional obligations, all MPs are expected to be present.
