Hon. Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, Minister of the Interior, has presented 10 Nissan Navara Pickups to the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) to strengthen surveillance, improve rapid response, and increase the Commission’s overall operational capacity in the fight against organised crime.

According to the Minister, the government has increased its funding for the NACOC as part of a larger effort to promote national security, protect public health, and disrupt organised criminal networks, as well as a commitment to developing capable, responsive, and responsible security institutions.

According to Hon. Muntaka, the vehicles would help increase arrests, improve operational capacity, and speed up reaction times.

He asked NACOC’s management and staff to make sure the vehicles are used wisely and maintained appropriately in order to fulfil their original function.

Brigadier General Maxwell Obuba Mantey, the Director-General of NACOC, conveyed his sincere appreciation to the government for its ongoing assistance in supplying security services with equipment.

He pointed out that the government’s dedication to boosting mobility and bolstering surveillance nationwide was demonstrated by the vehicles’ provision.

The vehicles would greatly improve NACOC’s operational effectiveness, Brigadier General Obuba Mantey remarked, and he guaranteed their responsible deployment and upkeep.
