Hon. Mohammed Adams Sukparu (MP), Deputy Minister of Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations, emphasised the government’s commitment to developing strong legal and policy frameworks to promote Ghana’s digital transformation.
Hon. Samuel Nartey George (MP) spoke at the TechLaw Conference 2026 and the launch of AITLAP Africa at the University of Ghana School of Law, citing the convergence of law, technology, and innovation as a driving force in Ghana’s development.
The formation of AITLAP Africa coincides with government initiatives to enhance laws in fintech, e-commerce, data protection, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence.

He asserts that for innovation to continue to be inclusive, safe, and internationally competitive, effective cooperation between legal professionals, technologists, and legislators is essential.
The Deputy Minister emphasised the need for ethical standards and forward-thinking legislation to direct the development of artificial intelligence, highlighting it as a growing driver of efficiency in public administration, legal practice, and financial services.
He urged stakeholders to actively participate in determining Ghana’s digital future by restating the Ministry’s open-door policy and pledging support for collaborations with AITLAP Africa to promote research, capacity building, and public awareness on digital rights and emerging technologies.
