The Ministry of Food and Agriculture welcomed a high-level delegation from Ukraine as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen bilateral agricultural cooperation, with a focus on advancing mutual benefits under Ukraine’s “Food from Ukraine” initiative and Ghana’s flagship “Feed Ghana Programme.”
The Minister of Food and Agriculture, Hon., welcomed the delegation. Eric Opoku called the collaboration historic and emphasised how it may help reduce poverty and improve food security in Ghana.
He emphasised the significance of the government’s flagship “Feed Ghana Programme,” which is promoting economic change and food self-sufficiency.

The Minister emphasised the need for high-quality seeds to promote agricultural productivity while calling for more funding in crucial areas like value addition, processing, and storage.
Mr. Denys Bashlyk, the head of the Ukrainian mission, reiterated Ukraine’s dedication to aiding Ghana’s agricultural growth.

As part of this collaboration, Ukraine is investigating the construction of a wheat flour processing facility in Ghana and will provide five million seed packets to farmers in need.
The visit comes after Ghana and Ukraine signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in November 2026 with the goal of strengthening agricultural cooperation and guaranteeing food security.
Additionally, on April 9, 2026, a Food Processing and Distribution Center (Agrohub) will open in Ghana.
