Vice President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has commissioned 100 new buses on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama in an effort to revive Ghana’s public transport system.
As part of a larger government program to deploy 300 buses statewide to promote accessibility and reduce commuting issues, the ceremony was organised in partnership with the Ministry of Transportation and Metro Mass Transit Limited (MMTL).
The Vice President praised MAC Ghana and the management of MMTL, under the direction of Managing Director Kale Caesar, for their contributions to the intervention’s execution.

She underlined the need of an effective and dependable transport system for the growth of the country, pointing out that the project aims to improve commuter safety, affordability, and convenience while re-establishing trust in public transit.
Vice President Opoku-Agyemang emphasised the government’s long-term goal of boosting local involvement in the production and assembly of transportation components while stressing the significance of appropriate maintenance and disciplined operations to guarantee value for public investment.
