The Minerals Commission of Ghana has issued a strong warning to the public, particularly job seekers, to be cautious of individuals and unauthorised organisations allegedly offering employment opportunities or promising to secure jobs in exchange for money.
In an official statement, the Commission clarified that it has not authorised or contracted any individual, recruitment agent or private group to undertake recruitment on its behalf.
The Commission further emphasised that recruitment into the public service is free. Applicants are not required to pay any application fee, down payment, facilitation fee or other charges in exchange for employment opportunities.
According to the Minerals Commission, genuine job vacancies and recruitment opportunities will only be communicated through recognised and official platforms. These include national newspapers, the Commission’s official website, its verified social media accounts and credible news portals.
The Commission has therefore advised prospective applicants and job seekers in Ghana to verify recruitment information carefully and rely exclusively on authorised communication channels. Members of the public have also been warned not to engage with private individuals or agents who claim they can secure jobs at the Minerals Commission in return for payment.
Anyone who receives an offer to secure employment through unofficial channels or is asked to make a payment for recruitment has been encouraged to report the suspected recruitment scam to the nearest law enforcement agency or contact the Minerals Commission through its official communication channels.
The Minerals Commission reiterated its commitment to transparency, accountability and integrity in its operations and urged the public to remain vigilant against fraudulent job recruitment schemes.
