President John Dramani Mahama has toured Dignity DTRT, a Ghanaian-owned garment manufacturing company operating under the Free Zones Scheme, as the government intensifies efforts to promote industrialisation and implement its 24-Hour Economy policy.

The company is preparing to commission a new manufacturing facility expected to create more than 15,000 jobs while operating around the clock. The expansion is expected to boost Ghana’s textile and garment industry, increase production capacity and strengthen the country’s export potential.

During the visit, President Mahama reaffirmed the government’s commitment to reviewing the Customs Act to protect incentives for Free Zones businesses, safeguard investments and improve investor confidence.

The planned expansion highlights the importance of local businesses and private-sector investment in creating employment, promoting economic growth and positioning Ghana as a competitive manufacturing and export hub.

The President was accompanied by the Minister of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, and the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Free Zones Authority, Dr Mary Awusi.

The development is expected to support Ghana’s industrialisation agenda by creating employment opportunities, attracting investment and strengthening the country’s garment manufacturing sector.
