The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced a scheduled power outage in parts of the Ashanti Region on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, as the company undertakes planned maintenance work on its electricity distribution network.
According to ECG, the planned power interruption is part of ongoing efforts to improve electricity supply, strengthen network reliability and enhance service delivery across communities in the region.
The maintenance exercise is expected to result in a six-hour power outage, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm on Tuesday.
ECG Power Outage Areas in Ashanti Region
Several communities are expected to experience temporary interruptions in electricity supply during the maintenance exercise.
The affected areas include Tikrom, parts of Ekyem, Adako Jachie, Crop Research, Achase, Buobai, Parkoso, Akokoamong, parts of Yam Market, Dote and Duase New Site around Estate Junction.
Other communities listed by ECG include Sepe Dote Allahuakbar, Asawase, Old Krapa, Bronikrom, Apromase, Kuma Farms, Bonwire, Amanpe, Adawomase, Baman and Kenyase Gyedim.
Additional areas that will be affected by the ECG maintenance exercise are parts of Effiduase, Ntukumso, Bouya, Oseikrom, Effiduase Asokore, Onwe, Achina, Asinimpong, Kwaso Donaso, Tafo and New Road.
The ECG notice also includes Abawa Ruth, Tafo Hospital Mmofrature, Kumawu, Dadease, Oyoko, Banko, Atwea and parts of Asokore Mampong CCC among the communities scheduled to experience the temporary electricity interruption.
Six-Hour Electricity Interruption Scheduled
The affected residents and businesses should expect the ECG power outage from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm as engineers carry out the scheduled maintenance work.
ECG said the exercise is necessary to support the improvement of its electricity distribution infrastructure and enhance the reliability and efficiency of power supply within the Ashanti Region.
The maintenance forms part of ECG’s broader efforts to improve power distribution, electricity reliability and customer service across Ghana.
ECG Apologises for Power Outage
The electricity distribution company has apologised to residential and commercial customers who will be affected by the planned power interruption.
ECG said it regrets the inconvenience the temporary power outage may cause and appreciates the cooperation and understanding of residents and businesses in the affected communities.
Customers in the affected areas are therefore encouraged to take note of the ECG maintenance schedule for Tuesday, September 1, 2026, and make the necessary arrangements ahead of the six-hour electricity interruption.
