The Supreme Court of Ghana has dismissed an interlocutory injunction application filed by former Ghana Infrastructure Investment Fund (GIIF) Chief Executive Officer, Solomon Asamoah, in his attempt to stop ongoing legal proceedings against him at the Accra High Court.
The apex court ruled that Mr Asamoah’s application lacked merit and consequently declined to grant the reliefs he was seeking.
Supreme Court Rules Against Former GIIF CEO
Solomon Asamoah had approached the Supreme Court seeking an order to stay proceedings at the Accra High Court while he challenged aspects of how the trial court had handled his case.
However, after considering the application, the Supreme Court ruled against the former GIIF CEO, effectively allowing the proceedings at the High Court to continue.
The decision means the Accra High Court case involving Solomon Asamoah can proceed without the stay of proceedings he had requested from the apex court.
Supreme Court Upholds Variation of Bail Conditions
The Supreme Court also addressed a separate challenge concerning the bail conditions imposed on the former GIIF chief executive.
The apex court held that the trial judge did not commit an error by varying Mr Asamoah’s bail conditions.
