President John Dramani Mahama began his state visit to the Republic of Belarus beginning in Minsk.
After being greeted by Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Karankevich and a group of high-ranking Belarusian officials at the airport, President Mahama went to the Victory Monument to lay a wreath in memory of the Belarusian and Soviet Army troops who lost their lives defending the nation during World War II.

Ghana’s ambassador to Russia, Dr. Koma Steem Jehu-Appiah, the governor of Minsk, Vladimir Kukharev, and representatives of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry were present at the wreath-laying ceremony.
Additionally, President Mahama went to Belagro 2026, an agricultural exhibition, with the Deputy Prime Minister. Heavy farming and mining machines, as well as the newest agricultural equipment, are on display.

He saw a large BelAZ-75710 haul truck, Bobruiskagromash fertiliser equipment, Minskyekspo ZAO exhibits, and the product lineup of Minsk Tractor Works (MTZ).
In a succinct statement, President Mahama stated that his travel at the Belarusian president’s request is appropriate since it supports his government’s goal to transform the agriculture industry by using Belarus’s experience.
He commended the machinery’s excellence but underlined that final transactions require perfect technical support, the availability of spare parts, and after-sales service.
