Vice President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang emphasised the value of city-to-city diplomacy in advancing development, fortifying institutions, and cultivating partnerships during her speech on the topic “Forging Stronger Partnerships in Africa for Sustainable Economic Development.”

Vice President Opoku-Agyemang emphasised the enormous potential for intercity cooperation and emphasised Ghana’s critical role as host to the African Continental Free Trade Area Secretariat.

“As cities worldwide face common challenges, including rapid urbanisation, climate change, waste management, public health, and disaster preparedness, we need greater collaboration among municipalities to share knowledge, strengthen institutional capacity, and develop practical solutions that enhance our quality of life,” she said.
