The Reforestation Initiative 2026 was launched by the Forestry Commission at the Zuarungu Nursing Training College with the motto “Tree for Life.”
Through extensive tree planting and community involvement, the program aims to advance environmental sustainability. Attendees included GNFS employees under the direction of DO III Atanga Eva.
The national goal of planting 30 million tree seedlings nationwide, with a focus on repairing damaged ecosystems and promoting group participation in environmental conservation, was explained to the participants.

The program emphasised how crucial it is to include people, organisations, and communities in reforestation initiatives.
The Forestry Commission Head Office, as well as the Forest Services Regional Division and District Offices, provided free seedlings to the general people to plant in their local communities as a way of encouraging active participation.
