The government’s commitment to supporting agro-processing as a major driver of job development, value addition, and market access for farmers has been reiterated by Hon. Eric Opoku, Minister of Food and Agriculture.

The Minister stressed the need to boost Ghana’s agricultural value chain by investing more in processing, packaging, storage, and distribution in addition to farming during a visit to P&A African Food International Limited in Accra.

He praised the business for turning locally grown agricultural commodities into value-added goods for both domestic and foreign markets, pointing out that these kinds of investments are essential for lowering post-harvest losses, generating jobs, and raising farmers’ incomes.

In addition, Hon. Opoku encouraged Ghanaians to buy locally made goods in order to assist business expansion, job creation, and the growth of the country’s economy.
