Yesterday, Monday, June 22, 2026, a delegation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, led by the Foreign Minister, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa (MP), visited the family of the late former Ambassador Victor Gbeho to offer their condolences on the passing of one of Ghana’s best diplomats.
The Minister praised the late Ambassador Victor Gbeho, who was Ghana’s Foreign Affairs Minister from 1998 to 2001, for his exceptional service and accomplishments. From 1980 to 1990, he served as Ghana’s longest-serving ambassador and permanent representative to the UN in New York.

He passed on at the age of 91.
In September 2025, the Minister expressed his appreciation with the Ministry’s decision to acknowledge his devoted work. For his devoted public service, he received a recognition and an award.
