The organising committee of the 6th Inter Tourism Expo and Conference has engaged Presidential Adviser Augustine Tanoh on plans for the upcoming tourism and investment event scheduled to take place in Cape Coast from October 21 to 23, 2026.

The delegation, led by Inter Tourism Expo Chairman Emmanuel Treku and Chief Executive Officer Beauty Kabukie Apedoe, paid a courtesy call on Mr. Tanoh, who advises on the government’s 24-Hour Economy and Accelerated Export Development Programme.

The meeting focused on how the 2026 Inter Tourism Expo can support Ghana’s emerging 24-hour economy agenda, particularly through job creation, tourism development, investment promotion, agribusiness, industrialisation, digital transformation and increased private-sector participation.

Inter Tourism Expo to focus on investment and job creation

The 2026 Inter Tourism Expo will be held under the theme “Positioning Ghana as a 24-Hour Investment Economy.”

The event is expected to highlight opportunities across key areas including tourism, agribusiness, digital sovereignty and AfCFTA industrial acceleration, while demonstrating how Ghana’s tourism sector can contribute to broader economic development.

More than 300 tourism stakeholders, investors, government agencies, business executives, development partners and other participants are expected to attend the three-day event in Cape Coast.

Discussions between the organisers and the Presidential Adviser also examined ways to strengthen collaboration with government institutions to ensure that the Expo delivers practical investment and business outcomes beyond presentations and conference discussions.

Government expresses support for Inter Tourism Expo

Augustine Tanoh welcomed the organising committee and indicated that the 24-Hour Economy programme was prepared to support the Expo on behalf of the Presidency.

He subsequently requested relevant information from the organisers to enable the secretariat to determine its role and level of participation in the event.

Mr. Emmanuel Treku, in briefing the Presidential Adviser, explained that the Expo is designed to showcase Ghana’s tourism potential, attract investment and increase the economic returns generated from the country’s tourism and cultural assets.

According to him, several countries generate significant revenue from tourism, and Ghana has the potential to attract and retain greater tourism-related income to support national development and wealth creation.

Tourism positioned as a driver of Ghana’s economic growth

Mr. Treku said the engagement with the 24-Hour Economy secretariat was important because the objectives and expected outcomes of the Expo should align with the government’s broader economic transformation agenda.

He noted that collaboration with relevant institutions would help connect Ghana’s tourism industry with the productive sectors of the economy, creating opportunities for investment, employment, value-chain development and regional economic growth.

Institutions being engaged as potential partners include the Ghana Investment Promotion Authority (GIPA), Ghana International Trade Commission, Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ghana Tourism Authority and the Regional House of Chiefs.

Inter Tourism Expo to connect investors and businesses

The Inter Tourism Expo and Conference is an annual event focused on promoting Ghana as a tourism destination while attracting local and international visitors to the country’s historical, cultural and tourism assets.

The organisers also seek to use the Expo to strengthen tourism investment, trade, agribusiness and AfCFTA-related business opportunities.

The 2026 edition will provide opportunities for investors to explore projects in technology, physical infrastructure and emerging economic sectors. It will also facilitate business-to-business (B2B) engagements between international investors, entrepreneurs, policymakers and industry stakeholders.

Key activities will include presentations, an Investment Marketplace and Deal Flow opportunities, allowing participating companies to identify potential business partnerships, investment opportunities and commercial linkages.

With its focus on tourism, investment and the 24-Hour Economy, the 6th Inter Tourism Expo is expected to provide a platform for stakeholders to explore practical ways of using Ghana’s tourism resources to create jobs, attract capital and support sustainable economic development.
