The Government of Ghana has raised GH¢2.90 billion from its latest Treasury bill auction, surpassing its target as investor demand for government securities recovered following an undersubscribed auction the previous week.

The latest Treasury bill auction, Tender 2026, was conducted on September 25, 2026, with the securities scheduled for issuance on September 28, 2026. The auction attracted total bids of GH¢3.66 billion across the 91-day, 182-day and 364-day Treasury bills.

Out of the total amount tendered, the government accepted GH¢2.90 billion, representing approximately 79.3% of total bids received.

The amount raised was GH¢146.86 million above the government’s target of GH¢2.75 billion, reflecting stronger investor participation in the domestic debt market.

The latest auction also recorded a significant increase in the amount accepted compared with the previous week. The government’s accepted amount rose by GH¢686.19 million, equivalent to 31%, despite total bids declining by GH¢300.42 million from the previous auction.

The development highlights continued investor interest in Ghana Treasury bills and government securities, as the government seeks to meet its domestic financing requirements through the local debt market.

The 91-day, 182-day and 364-day Treasury bills remain key instruments used by the government to raise funds while providing investors with short-term investment opportunities in Ghana’s fixed-income market.
