Former Member of Parliament Mavis Hawa Koomson has been elected as the National Women’s Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) following the party’s National Delegates Conference in Kumasi.
Hawa Koomson secured 783 votes to defeat Hajia Safia Mohammed, who obtained 429 votes in the NPP internal election.
The election was held on Saturday, October 3, 2026, as the NPP gathered its delegates in Kumasi to elect new national executives and strengthen the party’s leadership ahead of the 2028 general elections.
Titus Glover Elected NPP National Organiser
Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus Glover was also elected as the NPP National Organiser at the delegates conference.
His victory forms part of a series of changes to the party’s national executive leadership as the NPP prepares for its next major political campaign.
Justin Kodua Retains NPP General Secretary Position
Justin Frimpong Kodua has been re-elected as the General Secretary of the NPP after securing a decisive victory in the party’s competitive internal election.
Mr Kodua polled 4,486 votes to retain the influential position.
Former Ngleshie Amanfro Member of Parliament Sylvester Tetteh came second with 1,340 votes, while Eugene Boakye Antwi secured 162 votes. Dr Charles Dwamena polled 126 votes.
The election results highlight the confidence delegates have placed in Kodua’s leadership as the NPP reorganises its national executive structure and positions itself for the 2028 Ghana elections.
The newly elected executives are expected to play a key role in strengthening the party’s grassroots organisation, mobilising supporters and shaping the NPP’s political strategy in the coming years.
