The Government of Ghana is considering an initiative to transform selected streets, major interchanges and public landmarks across the country through urban beautification and green landscaping projects.
The proposed initiative seeks to give major cities a facelift by introducing attractive landscaping, greenery and improved public spaces to enhance the urban environment.
Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Hon. Mahama Ayariga, disclosed that the government is working on a partnership arrangement to encourage private businesses to finance the beautification of selected streets and landmarks in major cities.

Under the proposed arrangement, participating businesses would receive naming rights for the streets and landmarks they sponsor, alongside opportunities to access advertising spaces and commercial promotion rights.
According to Mahama Ayariga, the initiative is intended to attract private sector investment into urban development while improving the appearance of Ghanaian cities.
The artistic impressions showcase how selected streets and interchanges could look following the proposed beautification and greening projects.
If implemented, the initiative could promote greener cities, improve the urban landscape and strengthen collaboration between government and private businesses in Ghana’s development agenda.
