The troubled Finance Minister cannot run away from the next vote of censure by the Minority Caucus, according to North Tongu MP Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.
There is no hiding spot, according to Mr. Ablakwa, for Mr. Ken Ofori-Atta.
He claims that even if the Minister “illegally” delays the 2023 budget presentation, it won’t help him keep his position.
The outspoken lawmaker said that Mr. Ofori-past Atta’s budgets had not been beneficial to Ghanaians in a social media post on Friday.
“Ken Ofori-Atta can choose to erroneously postpone the Budget presentation to Parliament for whatever long he likes, but it won’t help him.
Regardless, each of his last six budgets has brought destruction and misery.
“Whether there is a budget or not, the censure vote will proceed. Ken Must Go,” he tweeted.
The budget presentation scheduled for mid-November may be delayed as a result of the ongoing negotiations with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), according to Majority Leader Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu.
The Public Financial Management Act is broken by this recent event.
The deadline currently seems unlikely, according to the Majority Leader, as discussions over a bailout continue between the Finance Ministry and the Fund.
A delegation from the IMF is anticipated in the nation for additional negotiations next week, according to the Suame MP who also serves as the Minister for Parliamentary Affairs in a media interview on Thursday, November 3.

Alban Bagbin, the Speaker of the House, has already accepted a motion of censure submitted by opposition lawmakers to oust embattled Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta.

Mr. Ablakwa has emphasized that Mr. Ofori-Atta cannot evade this.
