A campaign to remove Dr. Ernest Addison, the Governor of the Bank of Ghana, for allegedly mismanaging the activities of the central bank, is being led by Minority Members of Parliament (MPs), and Mr. Daniel Domelovo, the former Auditor General of the Ghana Audit Service, has lent his support.

In spite of continuing negotiations with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), he voiced the clear conviction that both the Bank of Ghana’s Governor, Dr. Ernest Addison, and the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, must depart in order to restore confidence in the economy.

Mr. Domelovo’s support for the initiative originates from his goal to increase public faith in the country’s economy.

Yesterday, September 21, 2023, Mr. Domelovo gave an interview to Joy FM’s midday news program and stated that he agreed with the demands made by the 98 Majority MPs and the Minority MPs to fire the head of the central bank and the finance minister, respectively.

He thinks that a shift in economic leadership can revive optimism about Ghana’s economic prospects and ultimately encourage development.

According to Mr. Domelovo, the two people holding significant positions in the government’s economic apparatus are to blame for the general lack of faith in the economy.
