Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, the leader of the opposition in parliament, claims that the Bank of Ghana (BoG) executed a targeted operation to collapse microfinance enterprises that were thought to be owned by people connected to the National Democratic Congress (NDC), the opposition party.

He stressed that many of the managers of these microfinance companies have changed careers to become cab drivers and that the BoG, under the governorship of Dr. Ernest Addisson, has currently closed 426 microfinance enterprises.

Yesterday October 3, 2023, Dr. Ato Forson spoke to demonstrators at the #OccupyBoGprotest in Accra. He also claimed that the BoG had printed GH770 trillion for the Akufo-Addo-led administration in the previous two years.

According to him, the march was organized in favor of the suffering Ghanaian, not the opposition party’s own self-serving interests.
