Ghana Gas Records 97% Profit Growth as Jinapor Praises Company’s Role in Energy Security

Ghana National Gas Limited Company (Ghana Gas) has recorded an impressive 97% increase in net profit, reinforcing its position as a key driver of Ghana’s energy security, economic growth, and industrial development, according to the Minister for Energy and Green Transition, John Abdulai Jinapor.

The Energy Minister made the remarks during the 8th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Ghana Gas, where shareholders reviewed and approved the company’s 2025 Annual Report and Audited Financial Statements.

Ghana Gas Boosts Natural Gas Processing and LPG Production

Speaking at the AGM, Mr. Jinapor praised Ghana Gas for delivering strong operational and financial results in 2025.

The company increased its natural gas processing capacity from 100 million standard cubic feet per day (MMscfd) to 130 MMscfd, while also recording higher Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) production and achieving an outstanding 97% growth in net profit.

According to the Minister, these achievements demonstrate Ghana Gas’ growing importance in supporting the government’s Gas-to-Power programme, ensuring a reliable supply of natural gas for electricity generation and other critical sectors of the economy.

Ghana Gas Strengthens Ghana’s Energy Security

Mr. Jinapor stated that the company’s strong performance further cements its role in strengthening Ghana’s energy sector, improving electricity reliability, and supporting sustainable industrial development.

He encouraged Ghana Gas to maintain its growth by improving operational efficiency, expanding critical gas infrastructure, and investing strategically to meet Ghana’s increasing energy demand.

The Minister noted that a resilient and efficient energy industry is essential for accelerating industrialisation, creating jobs, attracting investment, and promoting long-term economic development.

Government Reaffirms Support for Ghana Gas

The Energy Minister assured the Board, Management, and shareholders of the Ministry’s continued commitment to supporting Ghana Gas as it expands its operations and contributes to Ghana’s ongoing energy transition.

He also commended the State Interests and Governance Authority (SIGA), the Ministry of Finance, and the Ministry of Energy and Green Transition for their oversight of state-owned enterprises, highlighting their role in promoting good corporate governance, transparency, and accountability.

KPMG Highlights Strong Financial Performance

During the meeting, external auditors KPMG presented the Independent Auditor’s Report, praising Ghana Gas for its sound financial management, reduced operational costs, improved efficiency, and overall strong financial performance.

The auditors noted that the company’s prudent financial practices have positioned it for continued growth while supporting Ghana’s national energy objectives.

Ghana Gas Focuses on Sustainable Growth

The 8th Annual General Meeting provided shareholders and key stakeholders with an opportunity to assess Ghana Gas’ operational achievements, financial performance, and long-term strategic plans.

The meeting reaffirmed the company’s commitment to delivering sustainable value, strengthening Ghana’s energy security, expanding natural gas infrastructure, and contributing to the country’s socio-economic development through reliable and affordable energy supply.
