Ordinary Ghanaian passport holders now have access to an annual 90-day visa waiver for South Africa.
A press release from the South African High Commission in Ghana made this announcement.
A letter from the governments of Ghana and South Africa, dated Friday, October 13, 2023, indicates that they have “agreed to implement the waiver for visa exemption for ordinary passport holders for a cumulative period of ninety (90) days per year, with effect from 01 November 2023.”
Additionally, it stated unequivocally that anyone with a regular Ghanaian passport who intends to remain longer than the specified 90 days must apply for a visa to enter the Republic of South Africa.
