The Office of Special Prosecutor has started an inquiry into Mr. Charles Adu Boahen’s acts as a former Minister of State in the Finance Ministry and any other parties implicated in the “Galamsey Economy” exposé by Anas Aremeyaw.

The investigation was initiated after Mr. Adu Boahene was dismissed by President Akufo-Addo for allegedly using the name of Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, among other things, to sell influence and collect money from investors, as revealed in an undercover investigative documentary by Anas.

According to Anas, Mr. Adu Boahen advised undercover journalists posing as businessmen in a hotel in Dubai that they could gain the Vice President’s attention with just a $200,000 token as an appearance fee and a few positions for the Vice President’s siblings in exchange for their support and influence in starting a business in Ghana.

According to the leader of Tiger P.I., the inquiry was meant to look into high-level corruption that threatens investor trust in Ghana.

Mr. Adu Boahene has, in the meantime, denied any wrongdoing.
