The National Service Scheme (NSS) and Jospong Group of companies have agreed to partner to improve agriculture in Ghana.

In a meeting with the Sixteen Regional Directors of the National Service Scheme at the Mensvic Hotel on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, the Executive Director of NSS indicated that the Scheme is committed to ensuring that Personnel will be equipped in fields like agriculture, IT, tourism and education.

He said the partnership perfectly aligns with the Scheme’s new focus to deploy National Service Personnel for employment.

“I assure you (Dr. Joseph Siaw Agyapong), that the National Service is the right institution to partner with because it is in line with the scheme’s revolutionary agricultural agenda and this ties into our bigger agenda, which is “Deployment for Employment,” he assured.

The founder and Executive Chairman of the Jospong Group of companies, Dr. Joseph Agyapong, disclosed his company’s readiness to support the agricultural efforts of the Scheme.

Dr. Agyapong announced that as part of the partnership, his organisation will deploy farming machinery, such as rice planters and combine harvesters, to the National Service Scheme’s Kumawu Agricultural Project.

He further mentioned that his company is ready to sponsor the travel of some of the national service personnel posted to the agricultural sector to places like Thailand and Japan to learn about improved farming activities.
