Otto Addo, the Black Stars’ head coach, believes that the friendly encounter against Switzerland will serve as a useful preparation for his team’s World Cup opener against Portugal.
Today, Thursday, November 17, 2022, in the Zayad Sports complex in Abu Dhabi, Ghana will play Switzerland.
We have analyzed Switzerland, therefore we must adapt to their way of doing things. Nevertheless, we still have a lot of work to do. Because we must adopt different stances and utilize various gaps depending on their system. Additionally, the defensive strategy is a little bit different, so this occasionally calls for different players, but we are well-prepared, and I believe overall it’s been a really excellent warm-up for Portugal.
They have a really, really good team. They have proven they are a pretty excellent squad by making the World Cup, and for us, it’s a great test since they have good players in the team who play for prestigious teams. Everyone is eagerly anticipating the World Cup and is ready and hungry.
“But obviously, it’s also about positions. The starting eleven is not 100% certain, so everyone has a good chance to show himself again and to show us as technical staff that they are capable of playing international games and this is a good test,” the technical staff stated.

Ghana will compete in Group H together Portugal, South Korea, and Uruguay, whilst Switzerland will fight in Group G alongside Brazil, Cameroon, and Serbia.
